Please note that hard drives are fragile components and need adequate packaging to prevent damage. Please follow the recommendations below:
1. Place hard drive in either an anti-static bag. If anti-static bag is not available then a freezer food bag will be sufficient.2. Use an approved hard drive shipping container or wrap the drive with approximately 3 inches of tightly packed bubble wrap. We do not recommend Styrofoam peanuts since they do not provide adequate shock protection and attract static electricity.
3. Please provide a list of files you are searching for and a brief description of your data recovery issue you’re having.
4. Please list your case, name or work order number on the outside of the packaging in order to expedite the processing of your case.
5. Please choose a carrier that can provide tracking number, send/return postage, signature requirement, and insurance. Insurance is recommended to cover any damage or theft of package while in transit. Customer is responsible for shipping services.
6. Ship items to the following address:
RC Squared Forensics & Data Recovery Services, LLC 26 Maple Court, Schererville, IN 46375. Phone # 219-595-2267
7. Upon receiving your hard drive, we will conduct a diagnostic and contact you with the results. The diagnostics will inform you with the details of your drive issues and turnaround time.
If the hard drive has obtained water damage, please do not dry it. Enclose the drive and a damp sponge in a plastic sealable bag to prevent the drive from drying out. Proceed with the steps listed above.
Computers/Laptops should be packaged in original boxes if available and placed into a larger fitting box. If not, the shipping carrier offers special boxes and foam inserts for these items. Computers and laptops should be wrapped adequately in bubble wrap to provide proper protection. Styrofoam peanuts can be used to fill in any voids in the box to prevent the computer from moving. Then seal box with shipping tape. Proceed with the steps listed above
